Athletes Foot

Athletes foot is a fungal infection of the foot. However, despite its name, It can affect anyone. It is a highly contagious and should be treated at the first sign of infection, to prevent spreading across your foot, and to other areas of your body. It may appear anywhere on the foot, ranging from the soles of the feet to the space between your toes.

What causes athletes foot?

Athletes food is caused by a fungus. Fungus typically grows in warm, moist places. You can contract it from a gym locker room, a pool, a nail salon, or from contaminated socks. A variety of fungal varieties are responsible for causing athletes food. Some people are more susceptible to infection than others.   

What are the symptoms of this infection?

Symptoms of this infection are generally mild in the early stages. However, this fungal infection can spread quickly and become very painful if not treated.  Symptoms of this include:

  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Stinging
  • Blisters 
  • Peeling
  • Cracking
