About Dr. Joseph Wolf
Dr. Joseph Wolf is a fellowship-trained podiatric foot and ankle surgeon focusing on both
trauma and elective foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Wolf stays up to date on the newest
techniques and equipment including arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques to
provide his patients with the best care possible. Dr. Wolf has received extensive training and
is experienced in both surgical and conservative management of acute trauma, sports
injuries, diabetic foot deformities/limb salvage, primary and revision total ankle arthroplasty,
and foot/ankle reconstruction.
An alumni of Boise State University, Dr. Wolf received his Bachelors in Health Science and
Military Science receiving a federal commission as a US Army officer upon graduating. He
then joined the Michigan Army National Guard while completing his DPM degree from Kent
State University. After graduating he went on to complete a three-year trauma and
reconstructive surgical residency at Beaumont Hospital in Wayne, Michigan where he
served as chief resident during his final year. Following residency he completed a one-year
fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Florida Orthopedic Foot and Ankle
Center.
Dr. Wolf also has an extensive academic background performing research both as a
principal investigator and in conjunction with the Beaumont Research Institute publishing
multiple studies in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Wolf has also published multiple textbook chapters including chapters on total ankle
total talus replacement. Additionally, he has spoken at both local and national conferences
including the Great Lakes Annual Conferences, Science and Management Symposium,
Florida Foot and Ankle Fellowship Society meetings, and the American College of Foot and
Ankle Surgeons Annual Scientific Conferences.
Dr. Wolf takes his time getting to know each of his patients providing the best quality patient
care possible. In his personal time, Dr Wolf enjoys staying active exercising, hunting, playing
golf, and fishing with his wife Alex and two boys Truett and Camden. Originally from
Michigan Dr. Wolf recently moved to the Toledo area and is both excited and honored to
begin helping patients in our area.
