About Dr. Kwame A. Williams
Dr. Kwame A. Williams is a Board-Certified, Fellowship-trained Podiatric Physician and Surgeon with extensive expertise in foot and ankle care. His journey to specializing in this field began unexpectedly, stemming from his own athletic challenges. As a college football player, Dr. Williams experienced the physical toll of years of competitive sports, including track, football, baseball, and basketball. After enduring multiple injuries—such as total knee reconstructions, collarbone fractures, and concussions—he faced a significant limitation to his athletic performance: an inability to “run on his toes,” which effectively ended his aspirations for an athletic career.
This personal experience sparked a lifelong passion for studying human anatomy, biomechanics, neurovascular structures, dermatologic pathology, and overall medical and physiological well-being. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Williams has dedicated himself to understanding the intricate workings of the body, which has shaped his comprehensive approach to patient care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Williams actively contributes to his community and the broader medical field. He serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA in Youngstown and Boardman, Ohio, and remains involved in youth sports as a coach and dynamic trainer. His work focuses on enhancing movement within all anatomical planes, with an emphasis on functional movement and injury prevention.
Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University, followed by a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a three-year surgical residency and a one-year fellowship in Rearfoot Reconstruction, Limb Salvage, and External Fixation.
