What are the different types of foot surgery?
There are many surgeries podiatrists perform to reduce pain, improve your ability to walk, and improve the appearance of your feet and toes. Some of these surgeries performed at Ohio Foot and Ankle Specialists include:
- Aesthetic/Cosmetic Foot Surgery
- Bone Spur Surgery (Cheilectomy)
- Bunion Removal
- Corn Removal
- Flat Foot Surgery
- Hammertoe Repair
- Heel Spur Surgery
- Ingrown Toenail Surgery
- Morton’s Neuroma Surgery
- Plantar Fasciitis Surgery
How long does it take to recover from foot surgery?
Your recovery from foot surgery will depend upon the type of surgery you have, and the condition being repaired during surgery. Simple procedures such as a corn removal, or an ingrown toenail surgery typically only require a day or two to recover.
Other foot surgeries performed at Ohio Foot and Ankle Specialists may take a few to several weeks for recovery. During the recovery, you may wear a post-op shoe, until you’ve fully healed. Minimally invasive foot surgeries, or endoscopic foot surgeries to remove a heel spur, generally require a recovery period of several weeks to several months.
